Gates

Gates is an insectoid alien from the 30th century and member of the Legion of Super-Heroes, possessing the power to open teleportation wormholes. Conscripted into the Legion under United Planets law rather than joining voluntarily, he serves as a reluctant but valuable hero.

Bursting onto the DC scene in 1996 courtesy of creators Tom McCraw and Roberto Flores, Gates is a Modern Age figure whose adventures have unfolded across a span of two decades. This DC character keeps genuinely rarefied company — sharing pages with the likes of Green Lantern, Supergirl, Batman, and The Flash — and appears most prominently in Adventure Comics and DC Universe: Legacies, those landmark series that celebrate the grand sweep of DC history.
