Who is Furball?

Furball is Brin Londo — the hero once known as Timber Wolf — reduced to a massive, feral, wolf-like creature through genetic devolution. Stripped of his human intellect and appearance, he exists as a tragic, beast-like figure among his former Legion of Super-Heroes teammates in the 30th century.

Furball burst onto the DC Comics scene in 1991, a product of the Copper/Modern Age's bold reimagining of the Legion universe under the creative team of Tom and Mary Bierbaum and Keith Giffen. Appearing across Legion of Super-Heroes, Legionnaires, and their annuals, this enigmatic figure shares pages with some of the Legion's most iconic names — Brin Londo, Querl Dox, Ayla Ranzz, and Jo Nah among them — placing Furball squarely at the heart of one of DC's most ambitious future-set sagas. With only a dozen cataloged appearances across a concentrated 1991–1994 window, Furball is a rare, cult curiosity from a celebrated era of Legion storytelling that serious fans of the 30th century will want to track down.
