Flagellum
Flagellum is a Cenobite from Clive Barker's Hellraiser mythology — one of the Order of the Gash's infernal denizens who inhabits the realm of suffering and dark transformation beyond the puzzle box, sharing that damned existence alongside Pinhead and fellow Cenobites.
Born into the nightmarish mythology of Clive Barker's Hellraiser universe, Flagellum made their chilling debut in 1991's Clive Barker's Hellraiser #7, conjured by the distinctive creative talents of Nicholas Vince and John Bolton. This is a character who inhabits one of comics' most gloriously dark corners — Marvel's early-'90s Hellraiser line, where they share the damned company of Pinhead himself alongside such infernal presences as Abigor, Balberith, and Face. With appearances spanning the core series, the coveted Book of the Damned companion, and the Spring Slaughter special, Flagellum may be a rare presence in the catalog, but every one of those seven appearances lands in some of the most atmospheric horror comics the Copper/Modern Age produced — essential territory for any serious collector of Barker's dark literary universe translated to the page.
