Who is Female Cenobite?

The Female Cenobite is a servant of Hell drawn from Clive Barker's Hellraiser mythology — a Cenobite, a once-human being transformed into a pleasure-and-pain-obsessed demon through the mysteries of the Lament Configuration puzzle box.

Emerging from the nightmarish imagination of Clive Barker's early 1990s horror comics, Female Cenobite made her page debut in Clive Barker's Hellraiser #2 in 1990, brought to life by the creative team of Scott Hampton and Mark Kneece. A denizen of Marvel's licensed Hellraiser universe, she haunts some of the era's most atmospheric horror comics, sharing those infernal pages with the iconic Pinhead, the enigmatic Elliott Spencer, and other denizens of the damned. Her appearances span the core Hellraiser series as well as Clive Barker's Book of the Damned and the Pinhead title — making her a recurring presence in one of Copper/Modern Age comics' most genuinely unsettling corners. For collectors drawn to horror comics with real literary pedigree, she's a compelling figure worth seeking out.
