Dionysus
Dionysus is the Olympian god of wine and revelry in DC's mythology, introduced during George Pérez's landmark Wonder Woman relaunch as part of the living, active pantheon that shapes the Amazons' world and Wonder Woman's divine heritage.
Few characters arrive with better company — Dionysus made his DC debut in 1987's Wonder Woman #7, stepping onto the page alongside Zeus, Hera, Hermes, Aphrodite, and Hestia as part of George Pérez and Len Wein's celebrated reimagining of the Amazonian mythos. As the god of revelry brought into DC's Copper Age, he inhabits a corner of the universe where Olympus itself is very much alive and consequential. His appearances are rare and choice — just five in the catalog, including a key-issue credit and a notable entry in Who's Who: Update '87 — making him a rewarding find for collectors who love their mythology woven deep into superhero storytelling.
