Diablo (Esteban Corazón de Ablo)
A 9th-century Spanish alchemist, Esteban Corazón de Ablo mastered the dark art of potion-making to achieve effective immortality, sustaining himself for over a thousand years. Freed from his long imprisonment, he turned his formidable alchemical powers toward conquest, clashing most notably with the Fantastic Four.
Born in the pages of Fantastic Four #30 in 1964, Diablo is a Silver Age Marvel villain conjured into existence by the legendary team of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby — as classic an origin as the era gets. Sharing the page with the likes of Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm, this character stepped onto the scene against Marvel's First Family and has kept remarkable company ever since, turning up across The Amazing Spider-Man and even Alpha Flight over a publishing history that stretches an impressive six decades to 2025. With four key-issue appearances to their name and affiliations that touch both the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, Diablo is the kind of deep-catalog Marvel figure that rewards the curious collector — 54 appearances of Silver Age flavor, all carrying that unmistakable Kirby-Lee DNA.
