Claymore is a member of the covert superhuman strike team Wetworks, operating alongside Jackson Dane, Mother-One, and Rachel Rhodes in the gritty military-action universe created by Whilce Portacio at Image Comics.

Claymore burst onto the scene in 1992, debuting in the pages of Wizard: The Comics Magazine — a fittingly high-profile entrance courtesy of Whilce Portacio right at the dawn of the Image revolution. A Copper/Modern Age creation through and through, this character carved out a niche in the gritty, kinetic universe of Wetworks, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Jackson Dane, Mother-One, and Rachel Rhodes across a run that stretched through the mid-nineties.
