Who is Air Wave?

The second Air Wave, Harold 'Hal' Jordan II is the teenage son of the original Air Wave, Larry Jordan. Inheriting his father's specially designed helmet, he discovered he could transform into radio waves and travel along broadcast frequencies, giving him a unique energy-based power set.

Debuting in the pages of Green Lantern #103 in 1978, Air Wave is a Bronze Age DC creation from the celebrated team of Denny O'Neil and Alex Saviuk β€” a pedigree that immediately signals this character arrived with serious craft behind them. Over a publishing life that stretches an impressive four decades, Air Wave has kept genuinely stellar company, sharing adventures with the likes of Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, Firestorm, The Flash, and Supergirl β€” the very heart of the DC Universe. With appearances across landmark titles like Infinite Crisis and DC Universe: Legacies, and two collector-recognized key issues to their name, Air Wave is one of those rewarding deep-cut figures whose longevity quietly speaks for itself.
