Abel Tarrant
Abel Tarrant is the original Tattooed Man, a DC villain who discovered that special inks could be used to tattoo images onto his skin and then bring those images to life as solid, tangible objects — making him a persistent thorn in Green Lantern Hal Jordan's side.
Silver Age DC has no shortage of colorful villains, and Abel Tarrant — the original Tattooed Man — is one of the more visually striking figures to emerge from that era, debuting in Justice League of America #61 in 1968 courtesy of the legendary Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky. Over a publishing span stretching all the way to 2012, he's crossed paths with heavyweights like Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, Superman, and even Bruce Wayne, signaling that DC's finest have always taken notice of him. Noteworthy enough to earn an entry in Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe — essentially the honor roll of DC's canon — Tarrant is a genuine Silver Age original whose longevity speaks for itself.
