Western Picture Stories, a four-issue series from the Comics Magazine Company launched in 1937, offered a straightforward dose of frontier adventure for early comic readers. The series is most associated with writers H. David, George Beaty, and George Filchock, and artists W. M. Allison, Martin Filchock, and George Beaty, who together shaped its short but notable run. As one of the earliest dedicated western comics, it helped establish the genre's visual language in the medium.
