Weird Terror

Comic Media’s Weird Terror (1952–1954) was a 13-issue horror anthology that leaned into the macabre twists and eerie atmospheres typical of the pre-Code era. The series is best remembered for its moody, shadow-drenched artwork by Don Heck, Marty Elkin, and Mannie Banks, alongside the reliably chilling scripts of Ken Fitch (and Ken W. Fitch). Though short-lived, it stands as a solid example of the genre’s golden age, offering a grimly entertaining glimpse into the kind of unregulated frights that would soon vanish under the Comics Code.
