About the series

Running from 1979 to 1987, Visions was an eclectic, nine-issue anthology series from an independent publisher, most notably featuring the early work of Bob Burden (who wrote and drew for the title) and the debut of his offbeat creation, Flaming Carrot. With covers by legendary fantasy artist Michael Whelan and interior art by Bob McLeod, the series also showcased stories by Lamar Waldron and Gary Cook, and included appearances by Jon Sable. Though short-lived, Visions stands as a quirky, influential showcase for emerging talents and the kind of genre-blending, creator-driven work that defined the early independent comics scene.
