About the series
Benoît Sokal’s Une enquête de l’inspecteur Canardo is a long-running, noir-tinged French-Belgian comic series from Casterman, following a hard-boiled, anthropomorphic detective duck through a grimly humorous world of crime and corruption. Spanning over 35 years and 25 albums, the series blends classic detective tropes with Sokal’s distinctive, melancholic art and storytelling, later joined by artist Pascal Regnauld. A cult touchstone of European comics, it stands out for its sustained, cynical vision and its ability to find pathos in its animalistic cast.
