Since 2006, Dupuis has published Une aventure de Spirou et Fantasio par, a series of standalone albums where different creative teams—most notably Émile Bravo, Yann, Flix, and Olivier Schwartz—put their own stamp on the classic characters. Each volume reimagines the beloved bellhop Spirou, his journalist friend Fantasio, their pet squirrel Spip, and the supporting cast of Champignac, Seccotine, and Entresol with a distinct artistic and narrative voice. This ongoing collection matters because it frees the franchise from a single continuity, allowing each creator to explore the spirit of the original Franquin era through fresh, personal interpretations.
