About the series
Archie's The Mad House Glads (1970–1974) was a short-lived but lively series that spun off the popular "Mad House" feature from Archie's Madhouse into its own title. Written primarily by Frank Doyle and Dick Malmgren, with art by a rotating team including Stan Goldberg, Gus Lemoine, and Samm Schwartz, the book focused on the chaotic antics of the Didit family—Dick, Dippy, Clyde, and Dan—alongside fan-favorite Fran the Fan and occasional appearances by Archie Andrews. It offered a zany, slapstick alternative to the main Archie line, capturing the era's goofy humor with its own distinct cast of eccentrics.
