The Incredible Hulk
Marvel · 1962–1963 · 6 issues
About the series
Marvel's original Incredible Hulk series, running just six issues from 1962 to 1963, introduced the tortured scientist Bruce Banner and his gamma-spawned alter ego. Stan Lee wrote the entire run, with foundational art from Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko establishing the Hulk's early struggles against military pursuit by General "Thunderbolt" Ross and the loyalty of teenager Rick Jones. This short but pivotal series launched one of Marvel's most enduring tragic heroes, setting the template for the Hulk's conflict between rage and humanity.
