About the series
In the late 1960s, DC Comics introduced a new kind of superhero duo with The Hawk and the Dove, a six-issue series that pitted two very different brothers against injustice. The hot-headed Hawk and the cautious Dove, whose powers were tied to their opposing philosophies, were brought to life by a rotating team of talent including writers Steve Skeates and Gil Kane, with Kane also contributing art alongside Murphy Anderson and Steve Ditko. This short-lived but memorable run explored the tension between action and diplomacy, offering a thoughtful take on conflict that stood out in the Silver Age.
