The Face
Columbia · 1941–1943 · 2 issues
About the series
From 1941 to 1943, Columbia Comics published just two issues of The Face, a brief but punchy wartime entry in the Golden Age. Writer Gardner Fox and artist Mart Bailey, the primary creative duo, brought a straightforward vigilante energy to the title. Though it had a short lifespan, the series stands as a minor but authentic artifact of early superhero comics, reflecting the era's pulp-influenced, crime-fighting sensibilities.
