The Dam Keeper

In this three-issue series from First Second (2017–2019), a young pig named Pig lives in a windmill that protects his village from a menacing, ever-present fog. Created by the Oscar-nominated filmmakers behind the short film of the same name, Dice Tsutsumi and Robert Kondo co-wrote and co-illustrated the story alongside artist Toshiro Nakamura. A gentle, visually stunning fable about courage and community, The Dam Keeper expands on its animated origins with lush, painterly art that feels like a storybook come to life.
