Terrors of the Jungle

Jay Disbrow and the Iger Shop brought jungle adventure to Star Publications' short-lived Terrors of the Jungle (1953–1954), a seven-issue series blending exotic locales with the publisher's trademark horror-tinged thrills. With Matt Baker among the artists, the book offered a distinctive, often lushly illustrated take on the genre, reflecting the era's fascination with untamed wilderness and peril. Though brief, it stands as a compact example of early 1950s pre-Code comics, where the line between adventure and terror was deliciously thin.
