About the series
In this one-shot from DC’s 1997 Tangent Comics event, John Ostrander and Jan Duursema reimagine Nightwing as a supernatural vigilante in an alternate universe where familiar heroes are given startling new identities. Part of the larger Tangent imprint, which presented a self-contained world of re-envisioned characters, this issue stands alone as a dark, self-contained story. It’s a curious artifact of DC’s late-90s experimentation with Elseworlds-style storytelling, offering a brief but memorable glimpse into what a radically different Nightwing could be.
