About the series
In the blood-soaked fantasy world of Skullkickers, Image Comics unleashed a gleefully irreverent six-issue miniseries (2011–2012) that lampooned classic sword-and-sorcery tropes. Written by Jim Zub with dynamic, cartoonish art by Edwin Huang and colors by Misty Coats, the story follows a pair of nameless, bickering mercenaries—a dwarf and a scarred giant—as they hack their way through monsters, magic, and mayhem for coin. The series earned a cult following for its sharp humor, kinetic action, and knowing parody of RPG-style adventures, establishing Zub as a rising voice in creator-owned comics.
