Seven miles a second

A raw, lyrical graphic novel adapted from David Wojnarowicz's unpublished memoir, Seven Miles a Second (2011–present, çà et là) was completed posthumously by artist James Romberger and translator Laurence Viallet. This single-issue work channels Wojnarowicz's furious, poetic voice into a visceral account of his life as a gay artist and activist in 1980s New York, confronting poverty, AIDS, and social marginalization. Romberger's stark, expressionistic art brings an unflinching visual intensity to Wojnarowicz's prose, making the book a vital artifact of queer history and underground comics.
