Seven miles a second #[nn]
Published by Éditions Laurence Viallet's çà et là imprint in 2011, this French edition of Seven Miles a Second brings together the raw, autobiographical vision of David Wojnarowicz with James Romberger's visceral artwork and Marguerite Van Cook's coloring. The cover — penciled and inked by Romberger — shows a young man in a white t-shirt sprinting through a darkened New York City streetscape, blood or visceral matter trailing from beneath him as taxi cabs and urban debris surround him, all bathed in a tense, amber-red glow. It's a striking image of urgency and fragility set against the indifferent machinery of the city.
