R-24

From 2000 to 2003, German publisher Reprodukt released R-24, a fourteen-issue comic series that served as a collaborative showcase for European cartoonists. Most closely associated with French talents Lewis Trondheim and David B.—along with artist Frank Schmolke and writer Calle Claus—the anthology blended inventive storytelling with a distinctly personal, art-comics sensibility. Its run captured a moment when the German and French small-press scenes intersected, making it a notable artifact of early-2000s European independent comics.
