In the pages of Mustang, French publisher Editions Lug delivered 154 issues of rugged adventure from 1966 to 1988, a staple of the European newsstand. The series was visually defined by the frequent work of artists Jean-Yves Mitton, Ciro Tota, and Jean Frisano, who brought a raw energy to its ongoing cast, including the diminutive Tom Pouce, the menacing Doc Ziegel, and the enigmatic Crabb.
