Kiki van Montparnasse

In 2009, Dutch publisher Oog & Blik (via De Bezige Bij) released the first issue of Kiki van Montparnasse, a graphic biography by writer José-Louis Bocquet and artist Catel, with Gert Jan Pos contributing to the Dutch adaptation. The series spotlights the vibrant, unconventional life of the early 20th-century artist’s model and muse Kiki de Montparnasse, capturing the bohemian ferment of 1920s Paris. Catel’s expressive, fluid artwork brings this historical figure to vivid life, making the series a notable entry in European biographical comics.
