Kiki van Montparnasse #[nn]
Published by Oog & Blik and De Bezige Bij in 2009, this Dutch-language graphic biography pays tribute to the legendary muse and artist of 1920s Montparnasse. Catel's cover illustration — rendered in warm, muted tones — presents a nude figure seen from behind, her dark bobbed hair and poised silhouette evoking the spirit of the era, with a violin's graceful f-hole shape subtly echoed in the composition. With writing by José-Louis Bocquet and Gert Jan Pos alongside Catel's elegant linework, this is a beautifully crafted portrait of a woman who defined a moment in bohemian Paris.
