About the series
From 1986 to 1994, the Swedish comic series Kalle Ankas bästisar collected classic Disney tales for a new generation, spotlighting the beloved ducks of Duckburg. Published by Serieförlaget and later Hemmets Journal across 30 issues, the series drew heavily from the legendary Carl Barks, who both wrote and illustrated the bulk of its stories alongside writer Al Koch. Featuring Kalle Anka (Donald Duck), his nephews Tjatte, Knatte, and Fnatte (Huey, Dewey, and Louie), along with Farbror Joakim (Scrooge McDuck) and Alexander Lukas (Gladstone Gander), it served as an essential Swedish archive of Barks’ warm, adventurous humor.
