Kaänga

A two-issue series from I. W. Publishing and Super Comics, Kaänga (1958) follows the adventures of its titular jungle lord. The strip was most frequently illustrated by Bob Lubbers and John Celardo, who brought a classic adventure-comic style to the character's African-set exploits. Though brief, it represents a mid-century attempt to transplant the jungle hero archetype into a standalone comic book.
