About the series
From 1951 to 1954, Superior Publishers' Journey into Fear delivered 21 issues of eerie, atmospheric horror comics, largely crafted by the prolific Iger Shop studio. The series is best remembered for the lush, expressive artwork of Matt Baker, a pioneering Black artist whose dynamic figures and moody compositions elevated its tales of the macabre.
