Joakim (Farbror Joakim)

A long-running Swedish comic series published by Hemmets Journal, Farbror Joakim (1976–1997) placed the miserly Scrooge McDuck—known locally as Joakim—at the heart of 167 issues of globe-trotting, gold-coin-guarding adventures. While the series primarily spotlighted Joakim, his ever-present nephew Kalle Anka (Donald Duck) and the triplets Knatte, Tjatte, and Fnatte (Huey, Dewey, and Louie) were regular fixtures, with Musse Pigg (Mickey Mouse) also making appearances. The stories were most frequently written by Italian masters Guido Martina and Giorgio Pezzin, and brought to life by a trio of beloved Disney artists: Guido Scala, Giorgio Cavazzano, and Massimo De Vita.
