Jim Mahfood’s Grrl Scouts: Magic Socks (2017–present, Image) is a six-issue series that follows a trio of punk-rock misfits as they navigate a world of supernatural chaos, fast food, and bad attitudes. Written and illustrated entirely by Mahfood, the book is a vibrant, kinetic explosion of his signature graffiti-infused style, blending skate-punk energy with occult mayhem. It’s a standalone sequel to his earlier Grrl Scouts work, offering a raw, unapologetically fun ride that captures the anarchic spirit of indie comics in the late 2010s.
