About the series
In the mid-2000s, writer Mark Sable and artist Paul Azaceta brought a grounded, psychological horror to Image Comics with this six-issue miniseries. It follows a young man who, after a traumatic event, becomes convinced that a supernatural force is responsible for a series of tragedies. The series stands out for its intimate, character-driven take on the superhero origin story, stripping away capes and costumes to explore the terrifying cost of power.
