About the series
In the mid-2000s, writer Brian Wood and artist Jonathan Luna brought Girls to Image Comics, a tense, 24-issue horror series that traps a small, isolated town in a surreal nightmare after the arrival of a mysterious, beautiful woman. The Luna brothers craft a claustrophobic, character-driven story about desire, paranoia, and survival as the town's inhabitants are systematically undone by an alien, feminine force. Known for its stark, moody artwork and unsettling atmosphere, Girls is a standout example of Image's early commitment to creator-owned genre work, offering a slow-burn psychological horror that lingers long after the final page.
