Giant-Size Defenders
Marvel · 1974–1975 · 5 issues
About the series
In the mid-1970s, Marvel gave its non-team of mystical and monstrous heroes the oversized spotlight treatment with this five-issue series. Featuring the combined talents of writers Len Wein, Steve Gerber, and Roger Slifer, alongside artists Don Heck, Jim Mooney, and Jim Starlin, the book spotlighted Doctor Strange, the Hulk, and Valkyrie in sprawling adventures that pushed the boundaries of the team’s cosmic and supernatural scope. A short-lived but visually bold expansion of the Defenders’ corner of the Marvel Universe.
