In the late 1990s, WildStorm/Image's Gen 13 introduced a team of superpowered teens—including Roxy Spaulding, Caitlin Fairchild, Freefall, Grunge, and Burnout—who were government experiments on the run. Published under the Juniorpress imprint, the 24-issue series was defined by the kinetic, stylized art of J. Scott Campbell and the energetic writing of Brandon Choi and Jim Lee. A flagship title for the era, it captured the youthful, counterculture energy of the decade's superhero comics.
