About the series
Doktor Solar ran for 24 issues from 1966 to 1969 under the BSV - Williams imprint, a short-lived but memorable series from the tail end of the Silver Age. Written primarily by Dick Wood and Paul S. Newman, with art by Frank Bolle and Al McWilliams, the series followed the adventures of a scientist transformed into a being of pure energy after a nuclear accident, using his newfound powers to battle threats. Known for its striking, often psychedelic covers and its place in the broader "mighty man" trend of the era, it remains a cult curiosity for fans of mid-60s superheroes and independent publishers.
