The German publisher Volksverlag’s Comics für Erwachsene (1981–1984) ran for nine issues, presenting a curated selection of sophisticated, mature-audience comics from European and American creators. Featuring the work of artists like Enki Bilal, Gilbert Shelton, and Jean Giraud, alongside writers such as Daniele Böhm, Eva Kornbichler, and Jean-Michel Charlier, the series helped introduce German readers to boundary-pushing graphic storytelling.
