About the series
In this four-issue 1983 Marvel miniseries, writers Bill Mantlo and Ed Hannigan, alongside artist Rick Leonardi, introduced the street-level duo of Cloak and Dagger—runaway teens Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen, who gain supernatural light-and-dark powers from a synthetic drug. Partnering with Detective Brigid O'Reilly and guided by Father Francis Xavier Delgado, they wage a gritty war against crime and addiction in New York City. This series established the pair's tragic, symbiotic bond and their role as outsiders fighting a shadowy urban underworld, cementing their place in Marvel's darker corner of the 1980s.
