Casey Crime Photographer

About the series
In the late 1940s, Marvel Comics adapted the popular radio drama Casey, Crime Photographer into a short-lived four-issue series, following the titular photojournalist as he navigated the gritty, shadowy world of crime and headlines. Anchored by the artwork of Vernon Henkel, Mike Becker, and Pierce Rice, the comic captured the post-war pulp atmosphere of a quick-witted newsman whose camera often uncovered more than the police could. Though brief, it stands as a curious artifact of Marvel’s early forays into licensed media properties and the hard-boiled detective genre.
