About the series
Skywald's Butch Cassidy (1971–present) is a short-lived, three-issue Western comic that reimagines the legendary outlaw and his Hole-in-the-Wall Gang in a gritty, action-driven vein. Primarily written by Gary Friedrich and Tom Sutton, with artwork by Ross Andru and Sutton, the series captures the tail end of the Silver Age's fascination with antiheroes. Though brief, it stands as a distinctive, pulp-flavored take on the Wild West from a publisher better known for its horror and black-and-white magazines.
