About the series
From 1993 to 1996, DC Comics' Blood Syndicate brought a raw, street-level energy to the Milestone universe, following a multi-ethnic super-team forged in the fires of the Dakota City riots. Anchored by the writing of Ivan Velez Jr. and Dwayne McDuffie, with dynamic visuals from ChrisCross and J. H. Williams III, the series explored gang politics, identity, and found family through a cast of volatile young heroes. Its 35-issue run remains a landmark for its unflinching portrayal of urban life and diverse representation in superhero comics.
