Bill West
Pines · 1951–1952 · 2 issues
About the series
In the early 1950s, Pines Comics launched Bill West, a short-lived Western series that ran for just two issues. Anchored by the rugged artwork of John Celardo and John Severin, the title followed the adventures of its cowboy protagonist through the genre's classic tropes of frontier justice and rough-and-tumble action. Though brief, it stands as a small but interesting artifact of the post-war Western comic boom, showcasing the talents of two accomplished illustrators who would go on to define the look of adventure comics for years to come.
