About the series
A mid-1960s King Features comic-book series based on Mort Walker's beloved newspaper strip, Beetle Bailey ran for 13 issues between 1966 and 1968. Written and drawn primarily by Walker and Bob Gustafson, the book brought the famously lazy Private Bailey and his long-suffering Sergeant Snorkel to the comics page, alongside supporting cast members Cookie and the Hi & Lois characters. While the strip remained the character's main home, this series offered a compact, punchy extension of the strip's gentle military humor for dedicated fans.
