Beetle Bailey #64
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeIn "That's Show Biz!", Beetle Bailey faces a classroom-sized prank war when a mischievous kid keeps launching projectiles from a pea shooter at Sarge. With Beetle’s suggestion of child psychology falling on deaf ears, Sarge opts for a more traditional approach—leading to a moment that’s equal parts military discipline and classic comic absurdity. Written and drawn by Bob Gustafson, with inks by Frank Johnson, this 1967 King Features classic captures the timeless humor of military life, all capped off with a cover by Gustafson and Johnson.
In "Laughing Loser!", Beetle Bailey’s impersonation of General Halftrack during a GI talent show takes an unexpectedly personal turn when the General himself walks in—just as Beetle’s clownish, exaggerated take on his own uniform and demeanor earns a round of laughter from the troops. The moment turns awkward when Halftrack realizes the joke is on him, and Captain Scabbard’s earlier warning about sportsmanship suddenly feels less like advice and more like a prophecy.
In "Partner's Choice," Beetle Bailey lets Bunny pick the activity for their date, only to quietly steer every option toward his real favorite: playing pool. With playful persistence, he turns her whims into a clever setup that leaves her both surprised and smiling.
In "Blip's Pet Pest," Blip surprises everyone by bringing home a strange, purple, pig-snouted creature that hops and eats everything in sight. When Molly declares the animal a menace, she hands it off to Moose with the mission of finding a pet shop to take it to.
In "Snorkology," a mischievous kid keeps firing peas at Sarge using a pea shooter, turning routine drills into a game of dodge. When Beetle suggests Sarge consult books on child psychology, the gruff sergeant opts for a more traditional, no-nonsense approach—proving that some problems don’t need a manual.
