Atari Force

In the mid-1980s, Dutch publisher Juniorpress brought Atari Force to European readers, reprinting and continuing the sci-fi adventures of a diverse team of heroes—including Babe, Blackjak, and Dart—as they battled threats like the Dark Destroyer and Kargg across the cosmos. Written primarily by Gerry Conway, Mike Baron, and Siebe Snoeren, with art from José Luis García-López, Eduardo Barreto, and Ross Andru, this 10-issue series expanded on the video-game-inspired concept with a darker, more character-driven tone. While short-lived, it stands as a distinctive example of licensed comics from the era, blending American talent with a European publishing perspective.
