About the series
In the mid-1990s, Marvel launched these two companion series, Adventures of Spider-Man and Adventures of the X-Men, as a direct tie-in to the then-current animated television shows. Running for 12 issues each, the books were written primarily by Ralph Macchio and the Yomtovs, with art from talents like Yancey Labat, Alex Saviuk, and Andy Kuhn. They offered a faithful, all-ages-friendly extension of the cartoon storylines, giving fans a chance to continue the adventures of their favorite animated heroes on the printed page.
