Sun Comic #50 is an anthology issue featuring several stories: "Sitting Bull—Fighting Indian," which depicts a wagon train crossing Indian territory in 1860 during the Oregon Trail era, with settlers Jim and Mary facing dangers from Native Americans led by the famous chief Sitting Bull; "The Queer Adventures of Patsy and Tim," a humorous tale in which the two characters and their uncle's invention of "dwindling pills" become tinger and tinier while pursuing stolen jewels on an island; "There Was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe," a whimsical adaptation of the nursery rhyme showing the old woman managing her many children and various pets; and "Petrified Valley" by W. Holroyd, in which Professor Wimple, disguised as a magician, uses stage magic to punish the wizard Merlin. The issue also includes film snapshots from the 20th Century-Fox picture "That Lady in Ermine," a paint-this-picture contest, and a Discovery Quiz feature.
