School Friend #218 is an anthology issue featuring three stories. "The Riding Mystery at Moorland School" follows June Farmer and Roberta Page as they support their friend Wendy Glynn, the new riding instructor, in a competition where Wendy must win fifteen points at Downton Gymkhana to keep her job; Cyril Nokes and his cousin Noreen sabotage the effort, but Wendy succeeds in the crucial jumping event. "The Silent Three in the Highlands" by Helen Crawford involves three schoolgirls—Betty, Joan, and Peggy—who are members of a secret society at Castle School; they investigate a mystery connected to Bonnie Prince Charlie's secret, discovering clues about a hidden fireplace in the castle hall and pursuing the mystery through various encounters. "Susie's Wonder Cruise" by Jane Preston depicts Susie Howard aboard the luxury liner S.S. Sunshine, where she becomes involved in a dispute between two girls, Betty Brook and May Carter, over a Spanish fancy dress costume that both claim to own, ultimately discovering that Susie herself had unknowingly purchased one copy in Vilago while May Carter owned the other.
